Cabinet Minute
A June 2004 Cabinet Minute gave the EEO Commissioner the authority to provide guidance to departments and Crown entities, to help ensure State sector consistency and good practice on EEO.
The Minute stated that 'responsibility for operational promotion and monitoring of EEO in individual Crown entities be located in portfolio departments (CCMAU in the case of Crown entity companies); and the EEO Commissioner, in consultation with the State Services Commission (SSC), Ministry of Education, other monitoring departments (and, where relevant, the Pay and Employment Equity Unit, Department of Labour) be invited to prepare guidance for departments and Crown entities to help ensure State sector consistency and good practice on EEO'.
