A joint Auckland Chamber of Commerce and Ministry of Social Development pilot project aims to address skill-shortages by promoting flexible and family-friendly workplaces, initially working with 20 women on the Domestic Purposes Benefit. Research found that 70% of employers would have ‘no problem’ with hiring sole-parents or people on the DPB, and only 3% would have a ‘moral’ dilemma.
