The Diversity Effect - EEO Trust Symposium
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of its Work and Life Awards the EEO Trust is holding a day-long symposium on the increasingly important business issue of employee diversity in Auckland on Thursday 30 August.
EEO Trust Chief Executive Dr Philippa Reed says the symposium will focus on how innovative business ideas can be unleashed through diverse points of view.
Keynote speaker is Frans Johansson, author of The Medici Effect, in which he showswhat happens when different cultures collide and ignite an explosion of extraordinary new discoveries. He is joined by Professor Louise Rolland, an expert on the ageing workforce from Australia, and Dr Sven Hansen who will explore how leaders engage resilience to build the vitality, resonance, focus and meaning at work.
Two afternoon workshops will allow for more in-depth exploration of diversity management in practice. Sweet Joy Hachuela will build on Frans Johansson's presentation, taking participants deeper into the intersections between different cultures, fields and industries. The iglass team will take an interactive approach and explore how to capture, connect and engage with Maori and Pasifika peoples.
The symposium will be followed by the gala presentation dinner of the EEO Trust Work and Life awards in the evening. For more information www.eeotrust.org.nz
